Amar Mistry, DDS
Dr. Amar Mistry brings a warm, patient-centered approach to dentistry backed by years of advanced training and clinical experience. Originally from Ontario, Canada, he earned his undergraduate degree in Nutrition Sciences from Michigan State University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Dr. Mistry then completed a one-year advanced general dentistry residency in Portland, Maine, where he gained valuable experience treating complex cases. He has since continued his education at the Kois Center and Engel Institute, two of the most respected continuing education programs in the dental field for evidence-based, comprehensive dentistry and dental implants.

Prior to moving to Georgia, Dr. Mistry spent six years practicing in Dayton, Ohio, where he was known for providing high-quality care to a diverse group of patients. In 2023, he and his wife relocated to Atlanta to be closer to family and raise their young son.
At Mount Vernon Dental Group, Dr. Mistry believes in a personalized, comprehensive approach to dentistry. He takes the time to understand each patient’s unique oral health risk factors and goals to create a customized plan. Rather than just treating symptoms, Dr. Mistry focuses on identifying the root cause of dental issues, helping to prevent problems from progressing and supporting long-term oral health.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Mistry enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants around Atlanta, and cheering on his alma mater, Michigan State. Go Green!

Dr. Mistry is a twin… and so is his wife! Yes, two sets of twins under one roof—and to make things even more interesting, both he and his wife are dentists. It turns out, being a twin might just be the perfect training for life—and for dentistry: it teaches you how to listen closely, work as a team, and always bring a little extra care to everything you do!
